Marine Auto Electrician
(The actual marine kind)
Location: Papua New Guinea
PNG Motors is growing its marine operations and we’re looking for an experienced Marine Auto Electrician to support Suzuki Marine and associated marine brands across Papua New Guinea.
This is not a “close enough” role. If your marine experience starts and ends with standing near a boat, this probably isn’t for you.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining marine electrical systems across a range of marine engines and equipment. This includes fault finding on marine wiring systems, charging systems, control systems, ignition, engine management, and electrical diagnostics in harsh marine environments where saltwater, vibration, and heat are part of the job.
You’ll work across workshop and field environments, supporting vessels and equipment that need to operate reliably in real conditions. Not every job arrives neatly scheduled, and when something fails on the water, it needs to be fixed properly, not creatively explained.
You’ll be expected to work independently, follow manufacturer standards, and maintain strong safety discipline even when conditions are uncomfortable and time is tight.
Who This Suits
This role suits someone with genuine marine electrical experience. Not automotive electrical work with an interest in boats, but real hands-on experience with marine electrical systems. You understand how marine wiring differs, how saltwater changes everything, and why proper diagnostics matter offshore.
You’ll be comfortable with marine fault finding, control systems, battery and charging systems, electrical installations, and engine diagnostics. Experience supporting commercial, offshore, or professional marine operations will be highly regarded.
Qualifications & Training
Formal electrical trade qualifications are highly regarded, particularly where supported by marine experience. Manufacturer training such as Suzuki Marine or equivalent will be viewed favourably, along with any marine electrical certifications or technical diagnostic training.
Why PNG Motors
PNG Motors is a well-established organisation supporting marine and mobility operations across Papua New Guinea. We work with recognised global marine brands and support customers who rely on their equipment to work properly in real conditions.
You’ll be trusted to do the job properly, backed by a professional technical team, and given work that values precision, judgement, and reliability.
How to Apply
If you know marine electrical systems, respect the ocean, and take pride in fixing things properly the first time, we’d like to hear from you.
Send your CV and a short cover letter outlining your marine experience to: Dylan Siketa

Applications close: 14 May 2026
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
