JOB TITLE

Materials & Transport Coordinator

JOB PURPOSE

Materials and Transport Coordinator manage the flow of materials,

oversees inventory, coordinates transportation, and ensures timely

delivery while maintaining compliance and operational efficiency.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS

This role is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all warehouse operations. Core duties include:

  • Maintaining inventory levels, conducting regular audits, and preventing discrepancies.
  • Scheduling deliveries, managing transport routes, and liaising with suppliers and transport team to ensure timely and cost-effective movement of goods.
  • Addressing inventory shortages, delivery delays, or damaged goods, and implementing solutions to maintain smooth operations.
  • Tracking logistics-related data using warehouse management software and generating reports for construction management.
  • Main point of contact for internal teams and customers, providing updates and resolving issues and concerns.
  • Overseeing construction warehouse employees, providing training, and ensuring adherence to company procedures and health and safety regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or Diploma with relevant certificates in Project Management/ Business Management.

EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years or more experience in logistics, material management or inventory control.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and methods.
  • Expertise in managing large vehicle fleets for construction operations coordinating material procurement.
  • In-depth knowledge in procuring materials for construction projects and maintenance.

SKILLS & COMPENTENCIES

  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems, logistics software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing orders and schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills both written & verbal.
  • Proactive problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • High standards of work ethic and professionalism.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
