MECHANIC – PORT MORESBY

High Arctic focuses on delivering tailored energy solutions in Papua New Guinea, a region we have supported for over 17 years through oil and gas exploration and production. We are now seeking to employ an experienced Mechanic to join our Port Moresby-based team for an immediate start. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the inspection, maintenance, repair, and servicing of company‑owned vehicles, plant, and equipment to ensure reliability, performance, and safety standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Conduct routine inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance in line with the maintenance management system.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs on vehicles, mobile plant and equipment.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company procedures, OEM standards and safety requirements.
• Accurately complete maintenance reports and documentation.
• Identify and report equipment defects or improvement opportunities to supervisors.
• Actively participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks and compliance programs.

To succeed in this role, Candidates will meet the following criteria:

• Recognised trade qualification as a mechanic (PNG compliant).
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance.
• Experience working on vehicles, plant or heavy equipment.
• Strong understanding of safe work practices and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work rostered shifts and travel to site locations when required.

Desirable:

• Experience in Oil & Gas industry, Mining, Construction or Equipment Rentals.
• Exposure to remote or site-based operations.
• Current PNG Driver’s license.
