The Baptist Union of Papua New Guinea (BUPNG) has immediate vacancies for the following positions. These are full time positions based in Kompiam District Rural Hospital, Kompiam Enga Province.

Medical Officer – Paediatric (8CHSENG045) MOC4

Purpose of the role

Responsible for effective and efficient planning, consultations and coordination of General Practitioner Services provided by the hospital within the Inpatient Wards, Outpatients Department, Consultation Clinic, and Maternal Child Health Clinics and through the outreach clinics.

Outline of duties:

• Coordinate the implementation of the internal Medicine services in accordance with hospital policy priorities
• Provide advice to the executive management on matters in relation to Medicine
• Provide/conduct Specialist Medical Services to Health Centres
• Provide consultation and treatment for all internal medicine patients
• Provide advice to the executive management on matters in relation to O&G
• Diagnosis, treat and perform major paediatric surgical and medical procedures.

Requirements for the role:

• Must have Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
• Masters of Medicine (Rural /Remote Health) is desirable
• Minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in the field of Child Health and associated Services at a District Hospital and within rural District is desirable
• Must be registered with PNG Medical Board
• Good clinical skills in Medicine, Surgery, and Obstetrics & Gynaecology
• Good Public Relation and Communication skills
• Must have a valid NID Card or Birth Certificate and good work ethics
