Monier Limited the single largest producer, supplier and distributor or construction materials and building products in PNG is seeking to recruit suitably qualified and highly motivated individual for the following positions:

1 X Heavy Equipment Fitter

The Heavy Equipment Fitter is responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining, diagnosing, repairing and inspecting heavy equipment machinery to ensure maximum fleet availability and reliability. The role supports operational performance through quality workmanship, compliance with maintenance processes, teamwork, continuous improvement and adherence to Monier safety standards and procedures.

Duties Include:

• Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and component replacements on heavy mobile equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and powertrain faults using OEM diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Conduct engine, transmission, differential, brake and hydraulic system repairs.
• Carry out major component rebuilds and machine overhauls.
• Ensure all repairs are completed to OEM standards.
• Perform field service repairs during equipment breakdowns.
• Diagnose and repair engine, drivetrain, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Use diagnostic tools and manufacturer documentation effectively.
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure operational reliability and compliance.
• Rebuild hydraulic components as required.
• Utilize CAT ET, Komtrax, Sandvik diagnostic software and other OEM systems.
• Analyze machine fault codes and condition monitoring reports.
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and mechanical schematics.
• Provide detailed defect reports and maintenance recommendations.
• Complete repairs efficiently and to manufacturer specifications.
• Minimize rework through high-quality workmanship.
• Ensure maintenance tasks are completed within allocated timeframes.
• Support production requirements, including overtime and field breakdown response.
• Recommend improvements to equipment reliability and maintenance strategies.
• Complete all repair orders, job scopes, permits and maintenance records accurately.
• Assist in developing maintenance procedures and standards.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members.
• Provide technical guidance to apprentices and trades assistants and support skills development.
• Ensure compliance with all Safety policies, procedures and risk management requirements.
• Ensure tools, equipment and workshop facilities are safe and serviceable.
• Promote teamwork, fairness and positive employee relations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, productivity and quality.

Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Trade Qualification (NATTB) as a Heavy Equipment Fitter or equivalent recognized trade certificate.
• Minimum of 5-10 years' experience working in the mining, quarrying or heavy transport industry.
• Extensive experience maintaining, diagnosing and repairing Sandvik drill rigs and heavy equipment, including CAT, Komatsu and XCMG machinery, excavators, haul trucks, wheel loaders, dozers, graders and forklifts.
• Proven diagnostic and fault-finding skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
• Exposure to Metso mobile crushing and screening equipment will be highly regarded.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Current and valid driver's licence.
• Valid heavy equipment operating permits and certifications (desirable)
• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a fit-for-work standard, including adherence to company alcohol and drug policies.
• Reliable, punctual and willing to work overtime when required.
• Willingness to share knowledge and provide coaching and mentoring to Trades Assistants and Apprentices.
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work varied rosters and hours as required to meet operational and business objectives.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize and complete work with minimal supervision.

1 X Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

The Heavy Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, repair, and overhaul on a wide range of heavy vehicles, trailers and concrete mixer trucks. The role supports operational performance through quality workmanship, compliance with maintenance processes, teamwork, continuous improvement and adherence to Monier safety standards and procedures.

Duties Include:

• Perform scheduled servicing, preventative and corrective maintenance on tipper trucks, prime movers, trailers and concrete mixer trucks.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, drivetrain, electrical and electronic faults.
• Repair and overhaul diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, braking systems, suspension systems, steering components and driveline assemblies.
• Inspect, maintain and repair hydraulic tipping systems, mixer drum drive systems, PTOs, pumps, valves and hydraulic cylinders.
• Carry out major component rebuilds and machine overhauls.
• Use diagnostic tools and manufacturer documentation effectively.
• Perform functional testing and quality inspections following repairs to verify reliability and serviceability.
• Analyze machine fault codes and condition monitoring reports.
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.

• Minimum 5-10 years' experience maintaining and repairing heavy trucks, trailers, Side lifters and concrete mixer trucks.
• Demonstrated experience in rebuilding Eaton Road ranger and ZF transmissions and performing maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on Hino, Isuzu, Nissan UD and Howo trucks is highly desirable.
• Sound knowledge of diesel engines, drivetrains, hydraulic systems, braking systems, electrical systems and electronic diagnostics.
• Experience using OEM diagnostic software and fault-finding equipment.
• Valid driver's licence (Heavy Vehicle licence desirable).
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, hydraulic schematics and electrical wiring diagrams.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Current and valid driver's licence.
• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a fit-for-work standard, including adherence to company alcohol and drug policies.
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work varied rosters and hours as required to meet operational and business objectives.
