Position: National Youth Coordinator – Youth Ministry

We are looking for a positive enthusiastic, empathetic individual to organize and lead spiritual and social activities for our joint youth programs

Purpose of the role

The incumbent will plan and manage the Youth programme for the Baptist Union of PNG Community including outside the community if required. This includes all coordination work, education and training, as well as outreach for schools and community groups.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Plan and manage youth programme for BUPNG Community including outside community as well if required.
• Organise orientation training for all in-service youth volunteers and the training of trainers in Youth Programmes. Develop suitable youth awareness programs
• Organise and coordinate youth activities and ensure they are implemented and prepare Baptist Union Youth Training Plan
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders (Government Ministries, NGO’s, youth groups, etc.) regarding emerging youth issues, training & development, support services for community youth leaders, teachers involved in youth initiatives and BUPNG youth volunteers.
• Coordinate the Youth Peer Education Programme for Baptist Union and laisse with unions on youth issues and activities.
• Be the Focal Point for International Youth Exchange program and facilitate it. Support National Youth Forum and National Youth Summit

Requirements for the role:

• Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Ministry/ Theology or related field.
• Three years’ experience in similar role within Baptist Union Churches
• Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office (Word, excel etc)
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (Written & Verbal)
• Preferred Understanding of youth development and associated issues
• Ability to think laterally and provide innovative solutions to issues
• Thorough and strong attention to detail and ability to establish network
• Background in Health Promotion / Social Work / Youth Development/Gender Equality/Child Protection
