About the Role
As the Network Administrator, you’ll play a vital role in supporting and strengthening the organisation’s IT infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure and efficient network systems to ensure business continuity and performance. This hands-on role offers the chance to contribute to large-scale projects while receiving mentoring and support to grow your skills.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Configure and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure high availability across all systems, minimising downtime.
- Implement and manage network security protocols, with a focus on Fortinet and Cisco technologies, to protect the network infrastructure.
- Collaborate with internal teams on IT projects, upgrades, and ongoing network improvements to support business needs.
- Provide training and support to staff on network usage, best practices, and security awareness, while maintaining detailed network documentation.
What You’ll Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field, with solid foundational knowledge in network administration.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in network administration, including infrastructure management and troubleshooting.
- Proven expertise in managing Cisco technologies and Fortinet firewalls, with a strong understanding of network security best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration and clear documentation of network systems and protocols.
