Summer Institute of Linguistics Papua New Guinea (SIL-PNG) has an exciting opportunity for motivated skilled professionals, to join our dynamic team in Ukarumpa, Kainantu. We are seeking a Network/Telephone Technician with a servant heart who is looking for a challenge and change of scenery. This role vitally supports the work of Bible Translation.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The purpose of this position is to install, maintain and repair all internal and external physical computer network and telecommunication connections. This includes ensuring well –functioning cabling and hardware infrastructure. This position reports directly to the CTS ICT Manager and CTS Telephone Manager.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 10 Education or equivalent
• Completion of PETT training or equivalent technical qualification
• Good diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Basic Computer skills
• A current Class 1 (or greater) PNG Driver’s License with a clean record or ability to obtain one within 3 months.
• Normally requires at least 2 years of on the job training to gain full proficiency
• Ability to remain focused and professional during service outages or high – volume request periods.
• Ability to locate technical information from Telikom or internet sources.
