POSITION VACANCY

CreditBank PNG is recruiting a suitable candidate for the role of Networks Manager.

The Networks Manager is responsible for leading a team of network engineers to maintain network infrastructure, optimize network performance and ensuring security compliance for Credit Corporation PNG Limited. This role involves planning, troubleshooting, and collaboration with other IT teams to support business operation. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Banking Infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

Network Monitoring and Maintenance:

  • Design, implement, and manage our organization's local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks.
  • Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement appropriate security patches and updates.
  • Lead in network capacity planning and scalability assessments to support organizational growth and expansion.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues, working closely with end-users and other IT teams to resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Monitor network traffic and bandwidth utilization, identifying potential bottlenecks and implementing optimization strategies.
  • Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure optimal network uptime and reliability.
  • Oversee the Install, configure, and maintain network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with IT team members on projects and initiatives that require network support.
  • Provide training and support to staff on network usage, best practices, and security awareness.
  • Liaise with vendors for procurement, support, and maintenance of network equipment and services.
  • Maintain relationships with service providers to ensure optimal service delivery.

Disaster Recovery Planning:

  • Create specific recovery strategies for critical network components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure network continuity in case of outages or failures.
  • Test and update recovery procedures regularly.
  • Ensure failover systems and alternate routes are in place and tested.

Documentation and Knowledge Management:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations and changes.
  • Contribute to the knowledge base to improve team efficiency and service quality.
  • Monitor network usage and plan for capacity to ensure scalability.

Change Management:

  • Participate in change management processes to minimise risk during upgrades and deployments.
  • Assess the impact of network changes on services and infrastructure.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to improve network services.
  • Participate in post-incident reviews to identify areas for improvement.

Other duties

  • Other duties as directed by the Senior Manager – Bank Infrastructure and Chief Technology Officer.

Formal Qualifications & Experiences

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Specialist, or Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) are preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience managing and configuring network infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience with Cisco routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco IOS and network protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
  • Experience in configuring and managing Fortinet firewalls and other Fortinet security products.
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) for voice and video solutions.
  • Proficient in using network monitoring tools to identify and resolve issues.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks and regulations related to network security.
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations and procedures.
  • Experience managing network-related projects, such as upgrades, migrations, or new deployments.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and security standards in the banking and financial services industry.
