About the role

In this role you will process and monitor payment expenditures so that vendors and Service Providers are paid within the established credit term limits. Moreover, this role involves performing high standards of accountability and transparency in all business dealings with the various vendors.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Receive all creditors’ invoices and statements as they come in.

• Collate invoices with the relevant Purchase orders and Purchase Requisitions.

• Providing accounts, administrative and clerical services.

• Reconcile creditor’s statements as they are received with the relevant invoices and payment details.

• Voucher match (VM) invoices with Purchase Orders for each supplier in the computer system using Pronto Accounting Software.

• Ensure correct authorization of invoices and related documents before processing and payment onto Pronto.

• Process all creditors payments (both local and overseas) and general ledger entries as required.

• Address all creditors enquiries regarding their account and have all matters resolved in a timely manner to maintain good business standing.

• Distribute remittance advices to Suppliers and Service Providers on a timely basis.

• Refer immediately to the Senior Accountant any matters that is deemed beyond the scope of responsibility of the position so that these matters may be dealt with appropriately.

• Ensure all accounts paid files are properly filed, tagged and stored where they can easily be retrieved and researched in future.

• Maintain a good record of filing and labelling system for all unprocessed invoices and statements where they can be easily retrieved for further action where required.

• Assist subordinates as and when required.

• Brief Senior Accountant on a regular basis on accounts matters and work plan for a scheduled period e.g., weekly, fortnightly etc. and any matters that may need special attention to.

• Maintain safe work standards and practices in accordance with government and company policy.

• Perform all roles and responsibilities that support and reflect the company’s mission and core values.

• Disburses petty cash by recording entry and verifying documentation.

• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

• Able to provide Aged Trail Balance at any point in time and at month end.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must have a

• A Degree or Diploma in accounting or related field.

• At least 5 years’ experience in a mining environment.

• Experience in Pronto Accounting system is preferred.

• Be a self-starter, very resourceful, with the ability to find solutions to problems

• Flexible and adaptable and be a team player.

• Well versed in general accounting and banking procedures/systems or functions.

• Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.

• Strong planning and organizational skills.

• Proficient in computer and e-mail correspondences and courteous.

• Ability to maintain good working relationships with vendors and other stakeholders.
