Kainantu Resources Limited (KRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of South Pacific Metals Corp. (TSX.V: SPMC), is seeking motivated and reliable Community Affairs Officers to join our team.

KRL is advancing multiple gold exploration projects in the Kainantu region and requires dedicated field-based officers to support daily community engagement, landowner coordination, and site activities.

These are permanent roles offering competitive salaries and opportunities for career development within a growing exploration company.

Location: Kainantu region, Eastern Highlands, PNG
Roster: 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off
Department: Community Relations

Role Overview

The Community Affairs Officer is a frontline, field-based role responsible for daily liaison with landowners and local communities. The role supports access, compensation processes, community meetings, and general engagement activities across exploration areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily community liaison and stakeholder engagement.
• Support land access negotiations and site mobilisation.
• Assist with community meetings, awareness programs, and consultations.
• Record attendance, agreements, and community feedback.
• Assist with distribution of approved compensation and casual payments.
• Report community issues, disputes, or grievances to supervisors.
• Maintain respectful and professional relationships with landowners and leaders.
• Support field teams and operational activities as required.

Requirements

• Certificate or diploma in Community Development, Social Sciences, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 7+ years’ experience in community relations or field-based roles.
• Good communication skills in Tok Pisin and English.
• Basic computer skills (Word, email, simple Excel).
• Ability to work in remote areas and interact respectfully with diverse communities.
• Honest, reliable, and professional work ethic.
