K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

Joining our supply team, you will manage supplier performance and provide the timely purchasing and procurement of goods delivered on time according to specified quantity, quality and cost requirements and within the supply policy guidelines. In addition, you will effectively work with the supply department to resolve continual improvements through logistics chain

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Purchase and ensure that the quality of goods and materials purchased is to K92 Mining standards and specifications.
• Recommend sources for supply of goods and services, and obtain quotations from suppliers
• Analyse quotes provided for quality against specification, price, timely delivery and innovation and select the best value supplier
• Ensure purchasing at the optimal price in relation to quality, quantity and delivery method.
• Issue Purchase Orders that follow K92 Mining policies and standards
• Ensure appropriate documentation is completed and filed for all transactions.
• Manage the supplier base ensuring high level supplier performance and cost management through regular contact with suppliers.
• Develop an understanding of the supply market and ensure well documented cost management.
• Review performance of key suppliers across KPIs including price competitiveness, lead time compliance, delivery completeness & number of discrepancies
• Investigate discrepancies and identify opportunities in the procure to pay process.
• Investigate invoice discrepancies to ensure suppliers are paid in a timely manner.
• Investigate PO and goods receipt discrepancies to ensure that goods are available on site to meet requirements
• Recommend procure to pay process improvements in conjunction with systems enhancements
• Encourage site users to follow Supply processes and reinforce the correct process where required
• Ensure the timely completion of all purchasing requests.
• Regular communication with internal customers to understand expectations and required timeframes when issuing purchase orders.
• Follow up with suppliers to understand delays in quoting and seek alternative quotes as required
• Ensure purchase requests are converted to purchase orders and issued to suppliers in a timely manner.
• Manage out of hours purchase needs.
• Monitor the delivery of goods and materials ensuring conformation that deliveries are completed to the K92 Mining schedules and plans.
• Communicate with suppliers to ensure that specified delivery timeframes are met.
• Seek alternative suppliers, logistics solutions or substitute products where emergency requirements or supplier failure may lead to goods not being available on site on the date required
• Participate in the planning of shutdown maintenance and project work to ensure the availability of goods during periods of unusual demand.
• Ensure Safety, Health and Environmental legislation is recognised in all purchasing activities.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have all or the following

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in industry with relevant experience in logistics
• Understanding of ERP systems (Pronto) to support purchasing and expediting processes.
• Understanding of purchasing strategies, supplier evaluation and selection tools and their interaction with other supply processes.
• Ability to draft and compile quote request.
• Negotiation skills and understanding of negotiation techniques.
• Commercial analysis and evaluation.
• Communicate with stakeholders
• Enforce strict adherence to safety standards
• Protect brand image and reliability
• Foster growth-friendly supply chain practices
• Experience communicating with vendors in PNG and Internationally to expediting according to T&C’s for supply to K92
• Ability to communicate clearly with people at all levels of the organisation and engage all relevant stakeholders.
