Your Impact
As an Officer, Product Security, you will help safeguard Newmont's operations through proactive security monitoring, incident response, access control, and investigative support. Your work will directly contribute to protecting our people, assets, product, and reputation while supporting a secure and productive mining environment. You will play an important role in identifying risks, responding to incidents, and ensuring security protocols are consistently maintained across site operations.
As part of our team, you will
- Monitor site activities and conduct security surveillance to identify and respond to potential risks or unauthorized activity.
- Respond to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, taking appropriate action to minimize risk and maintain safety.
- Support investigations into security breaches and incidents, gathering information and documenting findings.
- Implement and enforce site security procedures, access control protocols, and compliance requirements.
- Assist in maintaining the integrity of site entry points, physical security systems, and monitoring technology.
- Work collaboratively with operational teams, camp-based personnel, community stakeholders, and local authorities to maintain a secure operating environment.
- Utilise security technologies including CCTV and control room systems while producing clear and accurate reports.
- Contribute to a culture of teamwork, professionalism, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Prerequisites for your success in this role
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Security Industry Authority Certification (or equivalent recognised security qualification).
- Current driver's license.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a security-related role.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems, control room operations, and security monitoring environments.
- Strong computer literacy with the ability to prepare incident reports and maintain accurate records.
- Sound understanding of security protocols, risk assessment, and incident response practices.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and make practical decisions during security-related incidents.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships across diverse teams.
- Investigation experience and exposure to mining, industrial, or resource sector environments will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of gold processing or mining operations will be advantageous.
Your work environment
This role is offered on a 21:21 Fly-in, Fly-out (FIFO) roster to Lihir Island, Papua New Guinea.
Our FIFO employees stay in a secure and comfortable camp environment, with ensuite, air-conditioned accommodation equipped with a mini fridge, television and Wi-Fi. A variety of nutritious meal options are available through the on-site catering facilities, while recreational and social amenities provide opportunities to relax and connect with colleagues while on roster.
