Operations Control Officer
An opportunity has risen within the Operations Division for an Operations Control Officer.
Reporting to the Operations Control Supervisor, this position is responsible for the management of the Operations Planner, including integrated flight dispatch and flight following functions.
Key Responsibilities
The Operations Controllers shall be responsible to the Operations Control Supervisor for the following:
Day Shift
- Monitoring and recording the progress of all flights on day of operation on the whiteboard, using information from Skynet, communications with port staff, flight crew and Flight Services as required.
- Updating MELs on the board to reflect latest reports from Continuing Airworthiness and the MRO
- Completing the Daily Actual Movement work sheet
- Communicating changes of plan, changes of aircraft and/or crew, flight delays and cancellations to concerned stakeholders.
- Printing and checking latest Air Maestro flight and duty time reports
- Preparing and completing Flight Summary Sheets
- Checking serviceability of aircraft plus hours remaining to maintenance and any expiring MELs; updating the board and adjusting operations for the day if necessary.
Night Shift
Preparing and distributing Version 2 of the Daily Movement Sheet considering changes to aircraft and crew allocation as required
- Preparing and distributing the Flight Summary sheet
- Updating flight following details into Skynet
- Preparing, distributing and filing crew transport pick up sheets
- Preparing, printing and filing the Daily Departure Summary
- Preparing and distributing the final Daily Movement Sheet for the next day’s operations
- Preparing the provisional flying programme for the following day on the Operations Admin Computer and whiteboard, in preparation for completing and sending out by the Operations Supervisor on Day Shift
- Other duties as required from time to time by the Operations Control Supervisor.
Education/Qualifications
- Minimum of Grade 12 education or equivalent to diploma and degree
- Strong customer service skills
- Good computer skills
- Must be able to work on the weekends/ on shifts
- Live or reside within the city
