We are a leader in the Automotive Industry in Papua New Guinea and are seeking to appoint a suitable candidate for our PNG Motors Dealership in Lae.

At PNG Motors, the role is responsible for the effective leadership, performance, and governance of the Service, Panel and Parts Departments. Reporting to the Dealership Manager, the role ensures operational efficiency, financial performance, customer satisfaction, people development, and compliance with safety, company, manufacturer, and statutory requirements.

The scope of the role includes:

1. Operational Leadership

Lead the Department Managers in the day-to-day operations of the Service, Panel and Parts Departments, ensuring excellent customer interactions, efficient workflows, high standards of workmanship, and full compliance with company policies and manufacturer requirements.

2. Financial & Performance Management

Drive workshop financial performance by achieving operational targets, managing costs, optimizing staffing and resources, and ensuring the profitability of the Service and Parts operations.

3. Customer Experience Management

Ensure outstanding customer satisfaction through proactive engagement with clients, effective resolution of service issues, and identification of value-add opportunities to support customer retention and business growth.

4. People, Capability & Safety Management

Manage, develop, and motivate staff through performance management, training, apprenticeships, capability building, while promoting a safe, productive, and positive working environment in line with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) requirements.

5. Reporting, Governance & Compliance

Provide accurate operational reporting and governance, including warranty administration, record keeping, compliance monitoring, and regular reporting to the Dealership Manager.

QUALIFICATONS & EXPERIENCE (ESSENTIAL)

• Minimum 5 years in a management level role, with over 10 years’ verifiable experience within Automotive Service, Repairs, Retail, Workshop Operations, or similar environments.
• Recognised Automotive Trade Certification would be an advantage, experience overseas desirable in modern workshops, advanced automotive systems, diagnostics, and computerized control systems.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft suite of Outlook, Excel, and Word, skills Pentana Dealer Management Systems, Era and Era Power would be an advantage.
• Demonstrated management and leadership in a multi-skilled workforce environment.
