Islands Petroleum (IP) is an independently owned fuel and lubes distributor, and the exclusive distributor for Mobil lubricants in Papua New Guinea. With the head office based in Kokopo, Islands Petroleum also operates bulk fuel depots in Rabaul, Kimbe, Konebada, Kavieng, Alotau, Popondetta/Oro Bay and Mt. Hagen as well as lubes and fuel distribution warehouses in Lae, Port Moresby, and Madang.

We are currently seeking for an Operations Support Officer to join our Lae Depot Operations and will be based in Lae, Morobe Province.

The Role & Responsibilities

The Operations Support Officer provides administrative, operational, and analytical support to the Assistant Regional Manager and Depot Manager. The role is responsible for supporting lubricant operations, inventory management, demand forecasting, logistics coordination, sales support activities, and ensuring efficient execution of operational plans to achieve business objectives.

• Maintain target safety stock levels and support logistics operations to ensure on-time, in-full product delivery.
• Ensure that all lubes quotation have been attended to and all PO delivered on time
• Assist to analyse historical data, market trends, and seasonal impacts to generate accurate mid-to-long-term sales forecasts and inventory
• Ensure optimal stock levels, must coordinate with HO Planning team re planned parcel nominations and vessel arrival
• Other Ad Hoc matters required by Depot Manager and Assistant Regional Manager

Candidate Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in operations administration, inventory control, logistics coordination, or supply chain support.
• Experience in the petroleum, lubricants, logistics, or distribution industry is desirable.
• Ability to analyse operational and inventory data.
• Strong planning, coordination, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to operational support.
