About the role

Processing Operators are multi skilled technicians responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Process Plant including the

• Crushing and ore handling system

• Comminution circuit comprising the SAG and Ball mills and gravity concentrator

• Flotation circuit

• Thickening and filtration circuits

• Concentrate loading

The Processing plant operates on a continuous shift roster operating on both day and night shift.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Perform the day-to-day operation of the process plant including, Crushing and ore handling system, Comminution circuit comprising the SAG and Ball mills and gravity concentrator, Flotation circuit, Thickening and filtration circuits, Concentrate loading, Preparation of reagents
• Operate fixed plant equipment according to all K92 Operation & Maintenance procedures and fault reporting systems.
• Effectively operate and maintain equipment mobile plant (light vehicle, front end loader, skid steer loader telehandler) according to all K92 Operation & Maintenance procedures and fault reporting systems
• Monitor equipment and systems to ensure correct and safe operation.
• Conduct sampling and monitoring of process plant sections.
• Record information and plant operating parameters using logsheets and appropriate documentation.
• Assist in isolation and de-isolation of equipment
• Perform minor maintenance activities on all equipment and provide input and assistance maintenance personnel as needed.
• Perform clean-up and housekeeping to ensure a safe, clean and productive work area.
• Conduct machinery inspections throughout to ensure all systems are functioning properly.
• Perform daily safety prestart maintenance checks.
• Ensure all K92 safety standards, policies & procedures are always adhered to
• Ensure that adequate duty of care is exercised in all aspects of work activities.
• Ensure utmost compliance of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and any site-specific rules which may apply.

About You

To be considered for this role, you must have a Grade 10 Certificate and relevant experience as well as Valid PNG Class 3 and Class 6 licence. In addition to this you will have some or all the following.

• Machinery licences including loader, skid steer, telehandler (desirable)
• Previous experience in a process plant (desirable).
• An appropriate trades trade certificate (desirable)
• Tertiary qualifications in Mineral Processing are highly desirable.
• High risk work certificates including, Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry, Equipment Isolation
• Ability to perform duties with minimum supervision.
• Ability to work shift work
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels, with good written communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
• Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
