Atlas is hiring an Overseas Purchasing & Stock Manager to join our Head Office team in Gordons, Port Moresby.

We are looking for an experienced and highly organised person who can manage overseas purchasing, supplier relationships, import coordination and stock control across the business.

This role is important to keeping Atlas moving. The right person will help make sure we have the right materials, parts and stock available at the right time, at the right cost, and in line with business needs.

In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing products and materials from overseas suppliers, negotiating pricing and supply terms, coordinating import logistics, managing customs and shipping requirements, monitoring stock levels, supporting stocktakes and working closely with finance, production, operations and logistics teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in purchasing and inventory management, with the confidence to deal with international suppliers and manage timelines across different countries and time zones.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing overseas purchasing and procurement
• Sourcing and negotiating with international suppliers
• Coordinating import logistics, shipping and customs requirements
• Monitoring stock levels and inventory accuracy
• Supporting stocktakes and stock control processes
• Working with internal teams to forecast business stock needs
• Helping reduce delays, control costs and improve supply chain efficiency
• Maintaining accurate purchasing and supplier records

We are looking for someone with:

• 5+ years’ experience in overseas purchasing or procurement
• Strong stock and inventory management experience
• Good understanding of import logistics and supplier coordination
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or similar
• Good attention to detail and strong follow-up skills
• Ability to work with suppliers and teams across different time zones
• Experience in steel, manufacturing, construction or building materials would be an advantage
