Steamships Trading Company is in search of a proven, capable and results-driven payroll supervisor to coordinate all aspects of payroll operations. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of fortnightly wages and salaries for all staff. The successful candidate will supervise the payroll team and report directly to the Personnel & Compensation Manager.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Payroll Supervisor to be responsible for;

• Extract staff listing, TRP, benchmarking and related tax calculations for Steamships Divisions.
• Ensure file is within company approved average increment % and tax according to TRP.
• Initiate 8.4% and 6% superannuation on pronto per the fortnightly probation report after completing 3 months of employment.
• Initiate staff training in liaison with Line Manager and Training Coordinator as when required.
• Facilitate probation reviews, mid-year reviews and annual reviews for incumbents per the performance management calendars yearly.
• Supervise timely implementation of payroll processing.
• Ensure leaves and final payments are checked and paid accordingly.
• And others as per the Job description.

Required Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in similar role.
• Payroll system management experience (preferably pronto).

Qualifications and Key Ccompetencies

• Appropriate Accounting or Business Management related qualifications.
• Solid financial understanding.
• MSO application skillset.
• Ability to lead and work in a team environment.
• Proven supervisory and coaching ability.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
