Operating in Papua New Guinea for over 30 years, Nestlé PNG Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced Payroll Supervisor to join our HR team, based in Lae.
Reporting to the Country HR Business Partner, the Payroll Supervisor is responsible for supervising payroll operations and leading a small payroll team to ensure staff are paid correctly and on time, while meeting all statutory and reporting requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
- Review and verify timecards, working hours, allowances, and staff deductions before payroll processing.
- Monitor daily payroll activities and follow up with Payroll Officers to ensure deadlines are met.
- Review payroll outputs and ensure accuracy before final submission.
- Handle and resolve payroll‑related queries from employees in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure statutory payments (IRC, NASFUND, NCSL) are calculated, approved, and paid on time.
- Review and sign off payroll reconciliations, including Statements of Earnings and monthly payroll reports.
- Supervise and support month‑end payroll activities, including accruals, headcount, overtime, and absenteeism reporting.
- Ensure payroll records, reports, and documents are accurate, complete, and properly filed for audit purposes.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and on‑the‑job guidance to payroll staff to maintain high performance and compliance.
Qualification, skills, and experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in payroll administration, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Good knowledge of PNG payroll processes and statutory requirements.
- High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel); SAP experience is an advantage.
