PHOTOCOPIER SERVICE MANAGER

Photocopier Service Manager directs the technical support, maintenance, and repair operations for managed print and office equipment. They supervise field technicians, manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and optimize fleet uptime to ensure high client satisfaction and drive departmental profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Manage, train, and mentor a team of field and workshop technicians.
  • Handle technician scheduling, dispatch, and performance reviews to maintain optimal response times.
  • Manage parts inventory, consumable stock levels, and supply chains efficiently.

Client & Account Management

  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex client complaints or technical emergencies.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) regarding machine uptime and repair turnaround times.
  • Build strong, lasting relationships with key clients and advise on equipment upgrades or renewals.

Technical Fleet Oversight

  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of multifunction devices (MFDs), production printers, and fleet management software.
  • Analyze maintenance metrics (e.g., equipment failure rates, first-time fix rates) to optimize the performance and lifecycle of the hardware.
  • Ensure team compliance with machine safety standards, network security protocols, and calibration best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience as a senior photocopier/printer technician or in a similar service delivery management role.
  • Technical Acumen: Advanced knowledge of printing technology, networking, and fleet management software (e.g., PaperCut, EFI Fiery, Equitrac).
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional conflict resolution, project management, and communication abilities.
  • Education: A relevant degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or equivalent trade certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, OEM manufacturer certifications) is highly desirable.
  • Other: A current driver's license

Company Description: Able started in Perth Western Australia in 1982 by Rick Kyle and Nick Taylor and moved to Papua New Guinea in 1984. In 1985, Able Computing (PNG) was incorporated by Geoff Lazberger with Rick/Nick and several others became individual shareholders in the company. Geoff Lazberger ran the company as CEO until 1989 when he left to return to Australia. The initial list of clients around the country used either accounting software CBA or Arrow. The company was awarded national distributorship for both CBA and Arrow and I had also built up a dealership with companies having large clients bases who’d be a target for our software (Deloitte, Coopers & Lybrand, Daltron, etc,)
