We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Pipe Fitter to join our Projects and Engineering Department at our Motukea facility. Reporting to the Lead Fabrication Supervisor or Project Manager, this hands-on workshop Pipe Fitter role is responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance , and repair of piping system . - Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications
- Fabricate, assemble, install, and align piping systems and components
- Measure, cut, thread, and weld (where qualified) pipes to required tolerances
- Install supports, brackets, and hangers for piping systems
- Conduct pressure testing, inspections, and troubleshooting of piping systems
- Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement of worn or damaged piping systems
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO)
- Comply with all MTIS safety policies and procedures.
- Qualifications & Experience
- Trade Certificate in Pipe Fitting / Mechanical Trade or equivalent.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in piping (mining, oil & gas, or construction)
- Proven experience in both fabrication and installation environments
- Knowledge of industry standards and codes.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Knowledge of pipping systems, materials, and fittings.
- High Attention to details and precision.
- Desirable attained certification in Working in Confined space entry and Working at Heights
