Our Lihir Site Operation in NPI & OS – Camps & Maintenance, Non-Process Infrastructure & Operations Department are now recruiting for the position of Planner -Supervisor role.

Reporting to Senior Specialist – General Services, to provide support and to lead NPIOS – Maintenance Planning & Scheduling team to deliver and achieve maintenance goals (KPIs).

The role will have responsibility to:

  • Drives and influences proactive safety behavior within he is working groups through visible felt leadership.
  • Plan work so that it can be conducted safely; and consider environment conditions, nearby activities, the people, and other resources needed to complete the work.
  • Reviews and screens work requests / work orders, prioritization, confirmation of job scope / requirements. (including safety hazards) and determination of required level of planning for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Plans work using the SAP software by populating the work order with clear and concise written job instructions / details / procedures (including work instructions, job safety analyses, OEM documentation/specifications, engineering drawings) with a level of detail, so that the specific tasks can be completed effectively and efficiently.
  • Determines and updates estimates for resource type, resource hours, materials, and work order duration in collaboration with the task requestor or supervisor.
  • Supervise and coordinates the day-to-day planning and scheduling for the Scheduling and Planning Maintenance Team program to ensure KPI goals are achieved.

Essential criteria

  • 5 – 7 years relevant work experience essential in maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Technical Diploma or Trade Certificate, Maintenance or similar, essential
  • Post Trade/tertiary qualification in maintenance management, essential.
  • Skilled in the use of SAP software to manage the day-to-day planning and scheduling of maintenance activities.
  • Have Leading Hand experience together with Supervisory experiences to come and lead team from the start.

Desirable criteria

  • Able to interpret Engineering Drawings, OEM manuals and standards.
  • Proficient in English with excellent verbal, written communication, and public speaking skills.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite, especially Word, Excel, and MS Project.
  • Sound planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and demonstrate a high degree of resilience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.

The Requirement

  • Must be open to FIFO in PNG.
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
  • Must have proof of a completed Police Clearance within the last six months.
