Plantation Manager & Divisional Manager
Hargy Oil Palms Limited (HOPL), an established oil palm plantation company located in Bialla, West New Britain Province is seeking expressions of interest from qualified and experienced individuals for the positions of Plantation Manager and Divisional Manager. These roles offer excellent career growth opportunities in a remote but dynamic environment, approximately 2.5 hours east of Kimbe by road.
Plantation Manager
Reporting to the Head of Department - Plantations, the Plantation Manager will be responsible for maintaining the highest possible plantation standards, maximizing yield, minimizing costs, and managing plantation operations within an approved budget. The role involves careful planning of upkeep, and harvesting programs, the overall management of Plantations and compounds, as well as ensuring efficient transport systems are in place to deliver crops to the mills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee plantation operations and meet yield and budget goals.
- Lead the team to ensure the successful execution of planting, upkeep, and harvesting.
- Adapt transport systems to maximize crop delivery efficiency.
- Maintain high standards in work practices, methods, and OHS policies.
- Impart knowledge and skills to the team through hands-on leadership and training.
Divisional Manager – Plantations
Reporting to the Plantation Manager, the Divisional Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of an assigned division, ensuring that quality crops are delivered to the mill with minimal losses. This hands-on role is critical for maintaining high plantation standards, managing costs, and meeting division-specific goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations within the division and ensure crop quality.
- Ensure efficient crop delivery to the mill while minimizing losses.
- Uphold high standards in work methods, following SOP’s, procedures, and OHS compliance.
- Lead and train the team to optimize performance and adherence to RSPO standards.
General Requirements for Both Roles:
- Must be able to work in remote locations.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to upskilling team members and promoting quality work practices.
- Respectful interaction and collaboration with all team members.
- Well-developed leadership and management skills.
- Ability to resolve problems promptly and work effectively in group situations.
- Commitment to improving quality and performance within budget constraints.
- Proven track record of management experience in plantation operations.
- Agricultural qualifications or equivalent.
