About the role
Reporting to the Surveillance Supervisor, the primary purpose of this role is to conduct aggressive surveillance as required by Investigations Section, identify potential safety or security breaches, reporting them in a timely manner, and detection and recording of product theft.
In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for monitoring all cameras, alarm and access control systems
- Ensure complete systems checks are completed daily, and report faults
- Monitor employees, contractors, visitors in all work areas via CCTV
- Identify incidents and accidents of employees and contractors operating in contravention to Standard Work Procedures and record and report them
- Identify security breaches or product theft and take immediate action to notify Investigations Section or Security Control if required.
- Ensure image storage medium is secured and sufficient storage is available to conduct continuous monitoring/recording
- Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Gold Security Standard.
- Identify unsafe work practices record and report them
- Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness and comply with the NPL Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health and safety rules and procedures
About You
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences:
- Grade 12 qualification as a minimum with good grades in all the core subject
- Experience in CCTV/ electronics security monitoring will be an advantage
- A qualification in IT or electronics will be an advantage
- Ability to make sound decisions under adverse conditions
- Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time
- Demonstrate ability to uptake technical skills rapidly
- Good interpersonal communication skills in English, both written and oral
Mobilization Requirement
This is a PNG National position, a site-based role on a FIFO arrangement with a rotation of 21 days on and 14 days off. Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening (to be arranged only for successful candidates after the interview stage), and provide an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months). Candidates must be PNG Nationals and available to start immediately. Females are encouraged to apply.
