ew Porgera Limited (NPL) is seeking to recruit a qualified engineer with a background experience in civil and structural engineering who can proactively support and lead the design engineering projects on site. This role exists within the Capital and Projects Department. The successful candidate will report to The Superintendent - Engineering Projects.

The ideal candidate must have:

• A bachelor-degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with strong and extensive technical/engineering design background in concrete and steel structures
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience. Prior experience in gold processing plant is advantageous
• Work exposure in the mining industry is desirable
• Excellent communication skills and demonstrate ability to multi-task
• Proficient in structural engineering software, such as Spacegass, STAADPro
• Experience in software like AutoCAD would be beneficial
• Experience in Project Management, especially in Engineering Project Management
• Good knowledge in bulk earthwork/civil engineering and design is desirable

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare technical documents, including specifications and drawings
• Provide package engineering and procurement support
• Provide engineering input to design deliverables (documents and drawings)
• Provide engineering checks of design deliverables
• Able to produce technical drawings using AutoCAD software
• Manage external engineering companies/consultants during engineering design stage of a project (if the engineering design is not performed in-house)
• Provide technical support in the preparation and execution phase of all projects
• Effectively communicate with contractors and other parties involved in any projects
• Prepare budget plans and ensure projects in engineering phases are executed within the budget limits
• Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation plans
• Manage and mentor junior engineer(s) reporting to him/her
• Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with NPL Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health rules and procedures

Mobilization Requirement

• This position is open to PNG Citizens Only
• Rotation 28 days on and 14 days off
• Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening
• Must Have an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 month)
