As part of our structural improvement and to cater for the needs of our expanding customer base, an exciting opportunity exists within our Workshop Team in Port Moresby.
Role overview
To procure heavy duty vehicle and equipment- parts and other goods and services associated with our Workshop Repairs and maintenance / other necessary sourcing of products and services for the other departments within Express Freight Management to ensure an efficient supply as required to fulfil our logistic requirements.
The role will be part of the Procurement function but will predominantly be responsible for the supply of parts and consumables for the workshop department at Express Freight Management.
Key responsibilities and duties
- To ensure the “just in time” supply of parts and consumables across a wide range of heavy duty vehicle and equipment makes and models.
- To ensure parts are secured at sufficient discounts to assist the profitable operation.
- To apply category product and service expertise through market knowledge and internal analysis, to optimize products and services utilized within the business
- Execute sourcing strategy in line with best practice and needs of the business
- To evaluate and manage supplier in terms of ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
- To assist in making the process between order and payment effective and efficient
- Attending to all Purchase Orders throughout the company as well as real-time Goods Received Notes.
- Assisting in monthly stock take’s
- To develop strong and effective internal and external relationships
- To ensure compliance with Group policy and external requirements as appropriate and in relation to the role
Requirements qualification and skills:
Essential
- Excellent industry knowledge of sourcing both heavy duty vehicle and equipment mechanical and auto electrical parts locally and internationally.
- At least 3 years Procurement experience in the relevant field
- Experience working on Attache accounting software will be an advantage.
- Strong and successful track record of parts procurement
- Strong heavy duty vehicle and equipment / manufacturer knowledge
- Good IT skills and regular user of Microsoft Office especially Excel
- A proactive “Yes I can ” approach
- Good team player, flexible and effective support to colleagues
- Effective negotiation skills
