Reinhold Engineering and Group of Companies Limited is a nationally owned civil works and building construction company based in Port Moresby. As we continue to grow and strengthen our operations across Papua New Guinea, we are seeking a capable and experienced Administration Manager to lead and manage our administrative functions.

About the Role

The Project Engineer will oversee the day-to-day technical execution of construction or engineering projects. Be responsible for translating engineering designs into actionable site plans, managing resources, and ensuring all work complies with specifications, codes, and regulations. This role will be crucial in maintaining project momentum, solving on-site challenges, and fostering a collaborative environment among all project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor overall project timelines, milestones, and critical paths to ensure on-schedule delivery.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring work is performed according to contract documents and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with engineering specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Attend and contribute to design coordination meetings, client reviews, and on-site progress meetings as required.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with internal project teams, external subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives.
• Review and process technical submittals, shop drawings, and requests for information (RFIs).
• Implement and enforce strict site safety protocols and quality control procedures.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance and problem-solving support to resolve construction and engineering issues.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and as-built drawings.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in a project engineering or assistant project management role within the construction or heavy industrial sector.
• Demonstrable experience managing subcontractors and direct-hire workforces.

Key Competencies

• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a sharp focus on details.
• Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and the MS Office Suite.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder management.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid understanding of construction safety standards (OSHA) and quality assurance/control processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address site challenges proactively.
