Reinhold Engineering and Group of Companies Limited is a nationally owned civil works and building construction company based in Port Moresby. As we continue to grow and strengthen our operations across Papua New Guinea, we are seeking a capable and experienced Project Manager to lead, manage and deliver on our multiple project sites.
About the Role
The Project Manager will oversee the entire lifecycle of multiple projects. Be responsible for directing on-site teams, managing all project resources, and maintaining rigorous compliance with safety and environmental protocols. The role’s main objective is to deliver exceptional results that align with client expectations, company standards, and strategic business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, and manage their execution from concept to completion.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to achieve project milestones.
- Conduct regular site visits and meetings to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Manage project scope, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and present detailed project reports for stakeholders and senior management.
- Ensure project targets and deadlines are met as per instructed by General Manager inline with client requirements.
Resource & Financial Management
- Create and maintain detailed resource schedules for personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Monitor project expenditures against the approved budget, forecasting costs and implementing cost-control measures.
- Review and approve vendor invoices, change orders, and other financial documentation.
- Optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency and productivity across all project phases.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Establish and enforce stringent quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures.
- Ensure all project activities adhere to safety regulations and environmental laws.
- Promote a culture of safety excellence, conducting regular audits and safety briefings with the on-site team.
- Secure all necessary permits and ensure project documentation meets all regulatory standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is a significant advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering or construction project management.
- Proven track record of successfully managing medium to large-scale civil infrastructure projects (e.g., roadways, utilities, site development, public works).
- Demonstrated experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and BIM tools.
- Extensive hands-on experience managing subcontractors, negotiating contracts, and controlling project budgets.
Essential Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on mentoring and developing talent.
- Superior communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Proficiency in standard office software suites and industry-specific applications.
