PROJECT MANAGERS
Advertised: 02 September 2026
Atlas
Construction, Building and Architecture | Morobe, Central
The organised, accountable, gets-the-job-finished kind.
Port Moresby and Lae | Full-time
Atlas is growing, and we’re looking for experienced Project Managers to lead construction and Steel Haus modular building projects across Papua New Guinea.
This is not a role for someone who manages projects from a spreadsheet and waits for other people to solve the problems.
We need people who can lead teams, control costs, manage clients and keep work moving safely from project award through to handover.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
You’ll take ownership of projects from commencement to completion.
You’ll manage programmes, budgets, resources, subcontractors and suppliers while maintaining clear communication with clients and Atlas management.
You’ll be expected to see problems early, make practical decisions and deliver each project safely, on time, within budget and to the required standard.
The role includes:
-
Managing construction projects from commencement through to handover.
-
Developing and maintaining project programmes.
-
Managing project budgets and resource plans.
-
Leading site teams and coordinating subcontractors and suppliers.
-
Monitoring costs, progress claims and variations.
-
Managing safety, quality and contractual requirements.
-
Maintaining strong client relationships.
-
Providing clear progress reports to clients and management.
-
Identifying risks before they become project problems.
-
Managing approvals, project documentation and handover requirements.
-
Keeping teams accountable and projects moving.
WHO THIS SUITS
You’ll need strong construction experience and the confidence to lead from the front.
You should have:
-
At least five years’ project management experience in construction, civil works or building.
-
A proven record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
-
Strong leadership, planning and organisational skills.
-
Sound commercial knowledge.
-
Experience managing programmes, costs, claims and variations.
-
Strong communication and client-management skills.
-
The ability to coordinate teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
-
The confidence to make decisions and solve problems under pressure.
A qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field is preferred.
Experience delivering projects in Papua New Guinea, including remote provinces, will be highly regarded.
If you wait until the programme has slipped or the budget has blown out before raising the problem, this probably isn’t the role for you.
WHY YOU’LL LIKE WORKING HERE
At Atlas, Project Managers are responsible for real outcomes.
We plan it.
We fabricate it.
We build it.
We hand it over.
You’ll lead significant projects across PNG and work with teams that understand local conditions and know how to get the job done.
You’ll be part of a growing Papua New Guinean business working across steel, construction, housing and infrastructure.
The expectation is simple:
Lead the team. Control the project. Solve problems early. Finish properly.
