Proposal Writer
The Organisation:
Pacific Adventist University (PAU) is owned and operated by the South Pacific Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The institution is accredited to the Adventist Accreditation Association, an international denominational authority for all tertiary and graduate educational programs and institutions owned by the Seventh-day Adventist Church entities. The main campus is located on the pristine Koiari Park, 14 miles outside Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea. The institution was established in 1984. Since then, it has grown from a college of 20 students, to a university of over 1000 students from across the Pacific.
The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-orientated Proposal Writer to join our Projects Department. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Proposal Writer is responsible for supporting the university’s efforts to secure funding for various projects by preparing clear, persuasive, and well-researched proposals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of project management and the ability to communicate effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Project Management or a related field
- 3 years of experience experience in project proposal writing or similar role
- Familiarity with funding sources specific to higher education, research grants, or development projects in Papua New Guinea
Knowledge and Skills:
- In-depth understanding of proposal writing principles
- Ability to conduct interviews, research and translate information to the proposal
- Have a high level of attention to detail and ability to work within set deadlines.
- Ability Collaborate and meet with clients and external partners to gather information
- Ability to Research & review funding sources and criteria and match projects with suitable funding sources
- Ability to prepare concept proposals to be submitted to various funding bodies
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
