World Vision International Papua New Guinea (WVIPNG) has exciting opportunity for those of you who want a change and want to become part of a dynamic team. We are currently looking for suitable, qualified, experienced, and highly motivated professional to fill the role of Provincial Project Coordinator to be based in Kiunga, Western Province.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage community coordination, ensuring effective engagement with local authorities (National Department of Health (NDoH) and Western Provincial Health Authority (WPHA)), community leaders, and stakeholders to promote awareness and participation in project activities.

  • Support the district project officers in planning, overseeing implementation, and monitoring project activities in alignment with project objectives and scope.

  • Act as the provincial focal point for all CNSP 1 project-related matters, ensuring effective communication and coordination among stakeholders, including government (NDoH, PHAs) INGOs, DDAs, LLGs and local communities.

  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, identify challenges, and ensure corrective actions are taken to maintain project quality and effectiveness.

  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on project progress, challenges, and outcomes to the Senior Project Coordinator and Project Manager at the national office.

  • Manage project resources efficiently, ensuring that all activities are completed within the allocated budget and timeframe.

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the successful implementation of project activities.

  • Ensure all employees and affiliates are well-informed and compliant with safeguarding responsibilities to promote the safety and well-being of children, adults, clients, and beneficiaries.

  • Establish a strong collaborative relationship with key stakeholders, representing WVPNG in nutrition forums, and ensuring effective internal communication and alignment with project development objectives (PDOs).

The Provincial Project Coordinator will work in close supervision of the Area Program Manager, Senior Project Coordinator, Project Manager, Finance, Monitoring and Evaluation officer and with the Area Program Team of their respective Provincial assignments.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree or college qualification social work, business economics, agriculture, health or public health, Health Management.

  • Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity

  • Basic understanding of project management cycle principles

  • Effective in written and oral communication; able to speak and write with a high standard of English.

  • Good networking and partnership development skills

  • Sound knowledge in PNG Government systems and programs

  • Computer literate

  • Communication, advocacy & facilitation skills
