Pacific Adventist University (PAU) is owned and operated by the South Pacific Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The institution is accredited to the Adventist Accreditation Association, an international denominational authority for all tertiary and graduate educational programs and institutions owned by the Seventh-day Adventist Church entities. The main campus is located on the pristine Koiari Park, 14 miles outside Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea. The institution was established in 1984. Since then, it has grown from a college of 20 students to a university of over 1000 students from across the Pacific.
The Role:
Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), the Public Relations and Communications Manager is expected to perform the core responsibilities listed below.
Core Responsibilities:
- Strategic Communication and Branding planning
- Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management
- Digital and Social Media Management
- Manage event protocol and public relations activities for the University
- Provide leadership and operational support
About you:
Qualifications and Skills required:
- Active relationship with Jesus Christ, characterised by a deep desire for worship and service to God.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication or Public Relations, Journalism, marketing or a related field. A Master’s degree in the relevant area will be viewed favorably.
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ work experience in Public Relations or Communication
- Demonstrate alignment with institutional values, an understanding of faith-based education, and the ability to engage diverse communities across the South Pacific region
- Strong leadership and team collaboration skills
