Position

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager – Retail Division to lead and scale our Department Store and Grocery operations as part of the continued growth and professionalisation of 1 Stop Village.

About the Role

The Purchasing Manager’s responsibility is to design purchasing strategies that ensure constant availability of inventory within company budget. Develop databases of potential suppliers and cultivate working relationships to ease the process of acquiring new materials. Develop procurement policies and procedures to help ensure that workers who handle procurement meet ethical standards and avoid potential conflicts of interest. The role includes;

• Lead and develop a team of buyers and purchasing staff
• Set sourcing strategy across key categories
• Oversee supplier negotiations and contract terms
• Manage purchasing budgets and cost-savings targets
• Monitor supplier and purchasing team performance
• Partner with finance and operations on purchasing strategy
• Reviewing purchasing team performance and priorities
• Overseeing a supplier negotiation or contract renewal
• Reviewing purchasing budget and cost-savings progress
• Partner with finance on purchasing strategy
• Coach and develop team members.
• Ensure to uphold all aspects of inventory management aligned ie aged stocks, expiry, barcodes, costing and margin.
• Engage with management on marketing and promotion.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or a related field.
• 6-10 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, including team leadership.
• Strong negotiation and strategic sourcing skills.
• Familiarity with ERP and procurement systems.
• Sound knowledge of logistic and shipping.
