Purchasing officer

An opportunity has risen within the Engineering Division for an experienced Purchasing Officer. This position will functionally report to the Logistics Supervisor and operationally reports to the Technical Materials Manager.

The Purchasing Officer will be responsible for the following key duties;

• Source & purchase aircraft parts & consumables ensuring that all appropriate signatures are attached
• Liaise with freight forwarders & suppliers – this may involve after hours phone calls
• Follow-up orders to ensure timely delivery
• Ensure the parts are booked in & made available to engineers for aircraft fitment
• Keep accurate records of all purchases
• Prepare pre-payments where required
• Other purchasing as required

For your application to be competitive, you will have relevant qualification with previous experience in a similar role including having the following key attributes;

• 3-5 years office experience (preferably in aviation purchasing)
• Computer Literate (MS Office)
• Experience in IAS and CAMP systems
  • Good organisational abilities
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable
  • Good decision making abilities
  • Able to use a phone confidently & effectively
  • Good Microsoft office skills – especially Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to meet deadlines
