POSITION VACANCY: QA ENGINEER

Reinhold Engineering and Group of Companies Limited is a nationally owned civil works and building construction company based in Port Moresby. As we continue to grow and strengthen our operations across Papua New Guinea, we are seeking a capable and experienced QA Engineer to support quality assurance and quality control across our construction projects.

About the Role

The QA Engineer will coordinate quality inspections, testing and audits throughout project delivery, from material assessment through to final construction and handover.

The successful applicant will verify that materials, workmanship and construction processes meet approved drawings, specifications, applicable standards and client requirements. The role includes identifying deficiencies, coordinating corrective actions and maintaining accurate quality records.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Inspections

• Review project plans, drawings, specifications and construction methods for compliance with applicable requirements.
• Conduct inspections of materials, workmanship and completed works to verify compliance with approved quality standards.
• Coordinate and witness testing, record results and report non-conforming work or materials.
• Recommend corrective and preventive actions, verify their implementation and escalate unresolved issues.
• Support project teams in meeting quality objectives, delivery timelines and client requirements.

Documentation & Audits

• Maintain quality documentation, inspection reports, test results and corrective action records.
• Ensure quality records are controlled and retained in accordance with company procedures, contract requirements and applicable obligations.
• Support internal and external quality audits and coordinate with project teams and auditors.
• Monitor quality performance and provide regular reports on defects, trends, risks and improvement actions.

Coordination & Continuous Improvement

• Communicate quality requirements clearly to project teams, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Support quality awareness and training on construction procedures and best practices.
• Identify quality-related risks and assist with mitigation measures.
• Coordinate with relevant teams to verify applicable approvals and compliance documentation.
• Implement lessons learned and recommend process improvements to reduce defects and rework.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of three years’ progressive experience in civil engineering and construction, including relevant quality assurance and quality control responsibilities.
• Membership of the Institution of Engineers PNG Inc. (IEPNG) is desirable but not essential.
• Sound knowledge of quality assurance and quality control principles, construction standards and inspection procedures.
• Proven experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Magnet Office and Microsoft Project.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical reporting.

• Excellent organisational skills and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant industry applications.
