Position Title: QC Inspector – Canning

Job Overview

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and committed QC Inspector – Canning to support quality and food safety standards within our canned meat processing operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, hygienic, and compliant production processes across low acid canned meat operations, including blending, filling, metal detection, and can seaming.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and monitoring food safety and hygiene practices across the canning process
• Verify sodium nitrite solution preparation, blending, and batch testing in line with quality standards
• Conduct routine quality checks on metal detectors, weighing scales, and seaming equipment
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of can seams and take immediate corrective action when required
• Maintain accurate inspection records and promptly report deviations or defects
• Monitor production stages to ensure consistent product quality and process compliance
• Support investigations into quality issues and assist with corrective and preventive actions
• Ensure production is stopped when specifications are not met to safeguard product integrity

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Grade 12 with A or B in English and Mathematics, or Diploma/Degree in Applied Science
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in QA/QC within the canning or food processing industry
• Sound knowledge of quality inspection procedures and food safety standards
• Ability to analyze issues and prepare clear quality reports
• Familiarity with metal detection, weighing systems, and can seaming operations
