We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join Capex Solutions Limited, a growing construction company established in Papua New Guinea. We are engaged in projects across the spectrum of Commercial, Residential, Civil, Industrial and Mining sectors.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor in our team, you will manage and monitor costs of the project, direct and manage a small design and project team which involves preparing cost plans and reviewing of tender applications. You will also be liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors, managing works to the contract and finalising commercial close of projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparing estimate costs plans and bills of quantities;
• Preparing and reviewing tender applications;
• Providing leadership to your design and project team of estimators, draftsmen, project managers
• Contractual administration;
• Fostering relationships with our partners to ensure repeat business;
• Measuring & valuing variations;
• Coordinate, plan, and manage schedules for contractors and subcontractors
• Ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget

Requirements and Qualifications

• Higher education qualifications in Quantity Surveying, or appropriate field from an accredited institution
• Ten years’ experience as a quantity surveyor or in a similar position
• Ability to work autonomously
• Able to multitask, prioritise, and manage time efficiently
• Able to manage a team of employees and multiple projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Accurate and precise attention to detail
• Goal-oriented and organized leadership
• Able to analyse problems and strategize for better solutions
• Self-motivated and self-directed
• Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office; Microsoft Project and experience with Project Management software preferred
• Organised and able to create multiple timelines, budgets, and schedules
• Knowledge of applicable building code regulations
• Able to build solid relationships with team members, vendors, and customers

This is a residential, full-time role based in Morobe (Lae), Papua New Guinea. This position is open to Nationals and Expatriates. A competitive package will be offered, commensurate with skills and experience.
