RAMP OFFICERS (Kokopo)

The Airport Department is seeking experienced candidates for the Ramp Officer position and will be based in Kokopo and must have own accommodation.

This position will operationally report to the Airport Manager and will be responsible for the following key accountabilities:

• Preparing equipment for arriving and departing aircrafts;
• Assist with marshalling of aircraft/passengers;
• Assisting the Customer Service Officer with passengers with special needs;
• Ensuring GSE is in safe working order for performing routine checks;
• Safe driving of vehicles on the apron and around aircraft;
• Preparing baggage for delivery to the aircraft;
• Operating the disable customer lift;
• Delivery of baggage to passengers, handling special items with due care;
• Recognising and handling of dangerous goods;
• Correctly handling and loading of animals and special loads;
• Report any safety or security occurrence to the Airport Manager;
• Assisting passengers and clients; carrying out other tasks as directed by the Airport Manager.

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

• Must complete Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
• At least 1-3 years’ working experience within Operations or in the aviation industry.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be presentable and a good team player
• Must have a valid PNG Driver’s license and Police Clearance
