ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Team Leader – Recovery, the Recovery Officer is responsible for handling accounts in advanced delinquency or default, focusing on minimizing financial loss to Moni Plus. The role includes negotiating settlements, coordinating legal recovery actions, managing repossessions, and working with external recovery agencies. The Recoveries Officer ensures compliance with company policy and regulatory standards while safeguarding customer relationships where possible.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage assigned portfolio of default or charged-off accounts.
- Initiate and follow through with recovery actions including repossession, litigation, and settlement agreements.
- Achieve recovery targets set by the Team Leader
- Work closely with the Legal Department on litigation cases.
- Liaise with external recovery agents, repossession companies, and courts where applicable.
- Ensure documentation is accurate and timely for legal proceedings.
- Engage with customers to negotiate settlements, restructures, or payment arrangements.
- Assess repayment capacity and recommend recovery strategies.
- Ensure all settlements are within policy and approval limits
- Maintain detailed recovery records and case files.
- Provide timely reports on progress of recoveries to the Team Leader.
- Highlight high-risk cases and propose solutions.
- Adhere strictly to company recovery policies and ethical standards.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in credit recovery, legal recoveries, or debt management.
- Strong background in financial services, credit risk, or legal processes preferred.
- Strong knowledge of recovery and legal procedures.
- High-level negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
- Strong ethical standards and resilience under pressure.
