SALES AND SERVICE MANAGER-LAE & KOKOPO BRANCH

The National Development Bank Limited (“NDB”) of Papua New Guinea invites suitable candidates for the vacant position of Sales and Service Manager for LAE AND KOKOPO branch.

Reporting to the Head of Branches & Loan Origination, the Sales and Service Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations of the bank’s branch office. Suitable candidate must be well versed in banking, with demonstrated experience in lending and loan portfolio management and be knowledgeable on prudential banking standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure excellent customer service is provided by all branch staff.
• Grow the Branch’s active loan book to a profitable level.
• Control the branch operating cost according to budget and minimize expenses on consumables and incidental costs to branch operations.
• Ensure bank fund high-value loan customers at a desirable accepted turn-around time.
• Ensure loan arrears on all products (SME 7.5% and MSME 4%) for the branch portfolio does not exceed bank expected repayment days for customer accounts.
• Be actively involved with loans officers in conducting immediate personal collection visits to individual and business borrowers as soon as loans fall into arrears even at day one of default.
• Diarize loan repayment due dates and to prevent loans from falling into arrears.
• Promote creative marketing strategy at the Branch and sell the bank’s products through business awareness meetings.
• Contact and work with other local organizations, provincial, district and local level government authorities and communities to promote a positive image for NDB.
• Be able to minimize risks associated with the bank operations and increase productivity.
• Be able to identify opportunities in agriculture (including livestock), tourism, fisheries and forestry and actively engage to selling the bank’s lending products.
• Providing mentoring, in-house training and career development support for officers within the branch.

Required Attributes

The ideal candidate should have the following:

• Minimum qualifications of first degree in banking; business, finance, economics or a related field.
• At least 5 years’ experience in banking management, particularly in a lending environment, and proven management level experience.
• Well versed with the bank’s lending regulations, policies and guidelines.
• Possess excellent communication, people management, team building, management, financial, computer and public relation skills.
• Conversant with the following technical skills relating to; lending appraisal, financial analysis; loan security documentation; loan asset management or recovery protocols.
• Be well vested with using Abacus core banking system or a similar banking/ loan management system would be an advantage.
• Able to represent the bank in seminars, workshops and conferences with leadership skills in selling the bank’s products.
• Background knowledge in General Office Administration, Document Management System (Laserfiche), Supplier/ Service Provider coordination, Asset Monitoring and other duties.
