SALES MERCHANDISER- LAE BASE

International Food Corporation Ltd, the leading manufacturer of Besta Mackerel and Tuna products in Papua New Guinea and the South Pacific, is seeking to recruit a highly motivated, qualified, and experienced individual to fill the position of Merchandiser.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

The Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring that company products are properly displayed, stocked, and promoted in retail outlets. The role supports sales growth by maintaining product visibility, managing stock levels, and building strong relationships with customers and store personnel.

JOB Responsibilities

• Ensure company products are displayed according to merchandising standards and planograms.
• Maintain adequate stock levels on shelves and in storage areas to avoid out-of-stock situations.
• Arrange and monitor product promotions and in-store displays.
• Visit assigned outlets regularly and build positive relationships with store managers and staff.
• Check product expiry dates and remove damaged or expired stock from shelves.
• Ensure correct pricing and labelling of products at all outlets.
• Collect market information on competitor products, pricing, and promotions.
• Prepare and submit daily and weekly merchandising reports.
• Support the sales team in achieving sales targets and distribution objectives.
• Handle customer inquiries professionally and escalate complaints when required.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper presentation of display areas at all times.
• Follow company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 Certificate or, Certificate in Sales & Marketing, or related field (or relevant experience).
• Proven work experience as a Merchandiser or in a similar sales/retail role.
• Highly motivated, self-driven, and result-oriented.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Willingness to travel within assigned locations.
• Physically fit to handle merchandising activities.
