Islands Petroleum is an independently owned fuel and lubes distributor, and the exclusive distributor for Mobil lubricants in Papua New Guinea. With the head office based in Kokopo, Islands Petroleum also operates bulk fuel depots in Rabaul, Kimbe, Konebada, Kavieng, Alotau, Popondetta/Orobay and Mt. Hagen as well as lubes and fuel distribution warehouses in Lae, Port Moresby and Madang.

We are urgently seeking to hire a Sales Officer for our Madang Operations, to be based at our Madang Depot, Madang.

The Role & Requirements

• Reporting to the Sales & Admin Supervisor, the Sales Officer will be responsible for communication with the customers and the sales team and able to understand customer needs, concerns and serve them accordingly as required. Other responsibilities include:
• Ensure to be pleasant and confident to communicate with the customer, making every effort to make the customer comfortable and relaxed.
• Ensure to listen attentively to the customer and take orders.
• Accept customers payment based on stock availability and correct usage or application.
• Proper sales processes and procedures must be adhered to at all times.
• Payments must be receipted by the accounts receivables/cashier
• System stock balancing online
• Systems End of Day shutdown / Draw Closing
• Perform other related duties as needed or assigned, which may include working at the facility when not delivering product

Role Requirements

• Minimum of Diploma in Business Management, or Sales and Marketing from a recognized tertiary institution
• 2 to 3 years’ experience in similar role
• Hands on experience and knowledge in Pronto or similar ERP is desirable
• Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills
• Excellent customer service, communications, and inter-personal skills
• Neat and tidy appearance
