Islands Petroleum (IP) is an independently owned fuel and lubes distributor, and the exclusive distributor for Mobil lubricants in Papua New Guinea. With the head office based in Kokopo, Islands Petroleum also operates bulk fuel depots in Rabaul, Kimbe, Konebada, Kavieng, Alotau, Popondetta/Oro Bay and Mt. Hagen as well as lubes and fuel distribution warehouses in Lae, Port Moresby, and Madang.

We are currently seeking for a Sales Officer under our POM 6 Depot Department to be based in our Port Moresby Depot, Saraga 6 Mile, National Capital District.

The Role & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Depot Manager, the Sales Officer must ensure aaccounting requirements are met according to established Financial Procedures. Timely processing of quotes, invoices, and reconciliation of all payments received/collected from customers/suppliers.

Other key responsibilities include:

• Provide exceptional customer service through timely and accurate quotes, invoicing, and order coordination for drum refills, bulk loading, vessel loading, and lubricants.
• Maintain up-to-date customer accounts, ensuring all payments are reconciled before delivery.
• Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure orders are processed and delivered on time.
• Coordinate with third-party hauling companies to assist with truck assignments and dispatching.
• Ensure all product sales are invoiced correctly with reference to supporting documentation and customer purchase orders.
• Handle customer inquiries, address concerns efficiently, and provide proactive feedback on potential issues.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental standards.

Candidate Requirements

The person we seek must have the following:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to reconcile accounts and manage customer orders effectively.
• Proficient in the use of accounting systems, particularly in invoicing and customer account management.
• Experience in the fuel and lubricants industry is an advantage.
