POSITION OVERVIEW
The Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth, achieving distribution and collection targets, and expanding Oceania Distributors Ltd's market presence within the assigned territory. The role focuses on developing strong customer relationships, identifying and securing new business opportunities, ensuring effective market coverage, monitoring market trends and competitor activities, and supporting product availability and visibility across customer outlets.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Achieve sales, distribution, and collection targets within the assigned territory.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail, wholesale, corporate, and trade customers.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities to grow market share.
- Conduct regular customer visits and ensure effective territory coverage.
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer requirements to identify sales opportunities.
- Work closely with Sales Merchandisers to maximise product visibility, availability, and promotional execution.
- Ensure timely collection of outstanding customer accounts.
- Prepare accurate sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence.
- Represent the Company professionally while promoting its products, values, and service standards.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory, including provincial and outstation locations, as required.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in sales, FMCG, wholesale, retail, distribution, or a related industry.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and growing customer accounts.
- Strong sales, negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good knowledge of the Lae market and surrounding regions; experience servicing provincial and outstation markets will be an advantage.
- Strong planning, reporting, and time management skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
- Minimum 3 years' clean and valid Driving License.
