Position Overview

The Salesperson is responsible for assisting walk‑in customers, processing sales orders, quotes and delivery dockets and ensuring excellent service at the counter. This role focuses on selling HVAC equipment, spare parts, and related accessories while supporting smooth counter operations and contributing to overall sales performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist walk‑in customers, technicians, and contractors at the counter.
• Recommend appropriate products, spare parts, tools, and solutions based on customer needs.
• Prepare and issue quotes, process delivery dockets, and handle EFTPOS transactions.
• Do follow ups with customers on issued quotes
• Ensure proper stacking and storage methods to prevent damage.
• Label shelves, racks, and stock locations correctly.
• Segregate fast-moving, slow-moving, hazardous, and obsolete items.
• Learn and stay updated on new product lines, specifications, and promotions.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely picking and delivery of counter orders.
• Check stock availability and provide accurate information to customers.
• Assist with stock checks, labelling, shelving, and maintaining a tidy counter area.
• Process all sales documents accurately (dockets, EFTPOS receipts, quotations).
• Maintain customer files and ensure correct pricing and product codes.
• Follow company policies for returns, warranty claims, and special orders.
• Work closely with warehouse staff, procurement, and management.
• Communicate customer feedback, product issues, or supply concerns to supervisors.
• Support overall branch sales goals and daily counter operations.
• Follow all workplace health and safety guidelines.
• Ensure safe handling of HVAC parts and materials, including refrigerants and electrical components.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional counter environment.
• Maintain cleanliness of warehouse, store, and surrounding areas.
• Ensure aisles, walkways, and emergency exits are clear and unobstructed.
• Arrange regular cleaning of storage racks, shelves, and floors.
• Ensure proper waste disposal and removal of damaged packaging materials.

Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12 certificate preferred.
• Experience in retail, trade counter sales, or technical sales an advantage.
• Prior exposure to HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, or electrical products highly beneficial.
• Experience in fast-paced customer service or parts counter work preferred.
