ORGANATIONAL CONTEXT

The Institute of Business Studies (IBS), from its humble beginning in 1987 as an arm of Nades & Associates, primarily providing revision classes for the needs of Papua New Guinea Institute of Accountants (now CPA PNG), has evolved into a private university-level Institution over the last thirty-four years. It was elevated as a University in January 2017 and offers its own degree programmes in the fields of Accounting & Finance, Business & Management, Economics & Development Studies, and Information Technology.


Today, we are one of the largest business schools in the country and continue to grow into the future. These successes are the fruits of our dedicated team members’ commitment to making a
difference in Papua New Guinea through their efforts in helping educate fellow citizens.


The University has been affiliated with the Southern Cross University (SCU) of Australia since 1999
and offers its degree programmes in Accounting, Business, and Information Technology. The
affiliation with Southern Cross University has made IBS the first and only Institution to offer
internationally recognised Bachelor programmes face-to-face in Papua New Guinea.

We strive to be the pioneer institution for business education in PNG. Some of our accomplishments to date are listed below:

  • Only educational Institution to operate a Career Centre.
  • Only the organisation has a “Centre of Excellence” for Leadership & Management Development.
  • Only private University established as per the decision of NEC and Gazettal.
  • Only private Institution to hold the status of “Study Centre – for the University of Papua New Guinea.” Till 2016, for 22 years.

partners. The role of the Head of Research needs to be modern, innovative, and strategically
positioned.

Position Overview:

The sole purpose of this role is to ensure that student data is correctly navigated and entered into the student management system. Guarantee that all student records are updated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Screening of applications
  • Quality check and ensuring that all applications with necessary document have met the SCU requirement
  • Ensuring student data is appropriate and applicable for correct input into the student management system (ERP Academia) and create invoices accordingly.
  • Assisting in the institution’s organized activities
  • Engaged in orientation of students as well as product knowledge reviews
  • Ensuring student Data for Southern Cross University is accurate and updated

Qualifications

(1) Education:

  • Preferably a diploma or degree in any business field, Certificate II, III or IV in any business or ICT field

(2) Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have a minimum of 1 to 2 or more years of work experience in student administration at a Higher Educational Institution or related field.
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must be computer literate and have a good knowledge on Microsoft Applications
  • Have good customer service skills
  • Must have adequate knowledge and Skills on CRM and SMS Software and ERP Academia

Working Conditions

You are required to work from 8:00a.m to 5:00p.m Mondays to Fridays and when require by the Team Leader or SCU Coordinator on weekends at IBSUniversity 11mile Campus. You are allowed to have an hour of lunch either 12:00noon to 1:00p.m or 1:00p.m to 2:00 p.m. Transportation to and from work is provided at your nearest Bus Station. In addition you are eligible for your annual leave whilst reaching one year of service at IBSUniversity and 10 days of sick leave.
