Security Guard

The Organisation:

Pacific Adventist University (PAU) is owned and operated by the South Pacific Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The institution is accredited to the Adventist Accreditation Association, an international denominational authority for all tertiary and graduate educational programs and institutions owned by the Seventh-day Adventist Church entities. The main campus is located on the pristine Koiari Park, 14 miles outside Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea. The institution was established in 1984. Since then, it has grown from a college of 20 students to a university of over 1000 students from across the Pacific.

The Role:

We are seeking a vigilant and reliable Security Guard to join our campus security team. In this role, you will be responsible for the protection of university property, staff, students, and visitors, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment on campus

Qualifications:

• Minimum Grade 10 Certificate
• Proven experience (minimum of 3 years) in security, law enforcement or related field

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to be calm, decisive, and professional when responding to emergencies.
• Physically fit, reliable and capable of handling security taskings of extended walking and standing duties.
• Strong observation and surveillance skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate/ well written incident reports.

• A high level of integrity, professionalism, and the ability to take instructions and work accordingly.
• Have a good understanding of Occupational Health & Safety and ability to operate security equipment (e.g. two-way radios)
