SENIOR ANALYST – POLICY RESEARCH & DATA UNIT, FINANCIAL SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT & INNOVATION POLICY DEPARTMENT

Reports To: Manager – Policy Research & Data Unit, FSDIPD.

The primary role of the Senior Analyst, Policy Research and Data Unit, is to conduct in-depth research and analysis on financial sector development and innovation. This includes contributing to the development of research methodologies, collecting, and analysing data, preparing research reports, and providing policy recommendations to support the FSDIPD's objectives.

The incumbent will also contribute to the unit’s data management and dissemination efforts. The Senior Analyst is accountable to the Manager, Policy Research and Data Unit.

Education/Qualifications/Experiences/Skills/Competencies

  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Development Economics, or related field from a recognized institutions with focus on financial sector development and innovations. A master’s degree would be an advantage.
  • Five plus +5 years’ experience in research and data analysis within the financial services industry, including experience in financial inclusion, FinTech, digital financial services or related areas.
  • Strong understanding of financial sector development issues and opportunities in developing countries.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, including econometrics and statistical modelling.
  • Familiarity with FinTech, digital financial services, and innovative financial products and services.
  • Experience in conducting policy-relevant research and analysis.
  • Familiarity with data collection methodologies and database management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Strong project management skills.
