The Processing Plant Projects & Development Department is now recruiting for the position of Senior Business Analyst for FIFO role based at our Lihir Gold Operation (LGO).

Reporting to the Senior Specialist – Business Improvement, this role will primarily lead the Processing Plant Business Analyst function and support the success of the Process Plant department, through financial, business, system, and problem-solving support and insight using detailed analytics, valuation and data interrogation.

The role will have responsibilities to:

• Drive and influence proactive safety behaviours within workgroups through visible leadership and daily interactions.
• Plan work so that it can be conducted safely; and considers environmental conditions, nearby activities, and the people and other resources needed to complete the work.
• Leads the deployment of the Processing Plant business analyst function, ensuring compliance to all responsibilities and accountabilities.
• Provides financial, business and problem-solving support and insight to the Processing Plant Management teams to deliver on the department’s targets and proactively manages and leads the drive on identifying value adding initiatives and business development opportunities through highly developed analytics and stakeholder engagement.
• Facilitates cross functional problem-solving sessions, information exchange and business improvement workshops with key stakeholders leading the strategy formulation and justification, developing detailed business cases, and planning, forecasting and valuation of the key value adding initiatives.
• Support project leads and sponsors in the implementation and successful delivery of key initiatives in line with the project’s timeline, scope and specific requirements.
• Delivers work within approved budget managing any variances in accordance with escalation process.
• Facilitates costs deep dive support for Processing Plant Superintendents
• Actively seeks cost reduction opportunities.

Essential Criteria

Ideally, our preferred applicant will have;

• Tertiary qualified Bachelor in Commerce specialising in Finance, Accounting or similar desirable with accreditation from CPA PNG to be completed as part of work permit process.
• 5+ years relevant work experience essential with experience in Business Analyst roles in large heavy industrial, mining and processing environments
• Previous experience in business improvement activities with strong budgeting and cost control.
• Proficient in English with excellent verbal, written communication and public speaking skills.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office suite.
• Sound planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.

• Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
• Skilled in the use of SAP software to review and drive operational cost discipline.

• PNG Driver’s Licence – Class Six (6) desirable.
